The animated film festival
The Annecy International Animation Film Festival or FIFA was created in 1960.
It takes place in June in Annecy, in Haute-Savoie. This year, it is scheduled from June 13 to 18.
First held every two years, the festival became annual in 1997.
The festival puts in competition a selection of animated films from around the world using various techniques: cartoons, paper cut-outs, modeling clay, stop motion, 3D…
It is also an important event during which world premieres, retrospectives, meetings and dedications, exhibitions and outdoor screenings are held.
It is the world’s largest event dedicated to animation.
After highlighting African animation cinema last year, Swiss animation will be honored this year.
The Animated Film Market
On the sidelines of the festival, the Annecy International Animation Film Marketor MIFA has been held since the mid-1980s.
This has now become an unmissable event for the development of projects in the animation sector. It allows players in the sector to make themselves known and students to find outlets in their branch of activity.
The Mifa welcomes more than 900 exhibitors on 4900 m² of exhibition space.
This year, it will be held from June 14 to 17.
10 years of collaboration
We have been collaborating with the show organizer, CITIA Image & creative industries, since 2012 for the rental of furniture at the MIFA.
No less than six trailers of colored furniture, i.e. a volume of 400 m³, are delivered to the gardens of the Imperial Palace in Annecy for each session.
It is a prestigious event in which all Square teams are proud to participate year after year.
